I am very proud of this being our 4th FREE, open to the public event. It’s very important to me to provide something accessible for the local communities. We’ve been working hard getting ready for Saturday. We are praying for good weather (no rain), safety and for every family who attends to have a wonderful time.

We have had several visitors this week helping to get us ready for the Spring Open House. Miss Nicole helped take care of the animals last fall when I was traveling London and Scotland. It was fun to see her interact with the goats again, I think they definitely remembered her! 🥰😍

It was a very productive Monday at the farm. Thank you to the many helping hands who help make the farm go round. Airbnb farmhouse got cleaned and lawns got mowed. Had a new helper today and we got the front flower bed in and got my seedlings planted. Miss Darci the beekeeper came to inspect the new hives as well. We found both queens and things look really good so far. Miss Darci will be giving honeybee education demonstrations at the upcoming Spring Open House with our new hives 🐝

Moved the honeybees into their new homes. They were not too pleased but I think they will adjust well. I was happy to see several bees with pollen balls on their legs which means they’re out working and collecting already after picking them up late last night. If you notice I had some tag along on my back for a while 😅😂🐝

We had an amazing time at Covenant of the Great Lakes today visiting at the Assisted Living building and Healthcare building with all the residents and staff. The new twins did amazing and Stella had all of her babies with her! A great two stop visit to kick off the 2025 Jump for JOY Program season.

Had an amazing time at the summer resource fair coordinated by Kentwood Elementary Schools at @kentdistrictlibrary Kentwood Branch! I’m so glad I thought to bring the little farm market, it was very popular with the kids. I also had a Taste, Smell and Touch educational display with items from our Farm Market. Families were able to learn about honey collecting and syrup making, smell goat milk soaps and try goat milk lotions 🐐

Just a friendly PSA that theft is not cool! The farm market and farm has cameras and I will report theft to authorities. I’m still feeling bummed after two people came yesterday and took items without paying for them. Farmers work too hard to deal with theft. Also a reminder that paying a partial amount for items clearly marked is also theft. I’m grateful that 99% of my customers are fair and honest but it’s the 1% that can often suck the joy out of your hard work.

This weekend I planted nearly 100 ranunculus corms. Tonight mom Joy and I planted potatoes we saved from last year’s potato harvest, supervised by the farm kitties. Love this time of year!

Zorro is the papa to all 6 live babies born at Parkside Farm! He’s very special to me as I nearly lost him when he was a buckling to severe health complications due to veterinary negligence. 6 months of specialized care and lots prayers and the Lord miraculously healed him. I can’t believe he will be 4 years old this year in November.
